Schurter expands its production facility in Romania

Lucerne/Ilfov - Schurter has increased its production capacity in Romania. Thanks to its newly expanded facility, it will be able to independently run its own production operations.

According to a press release, Schurter has expanded its operating site in Romania by 2,000 square meters. The Lucerne-based manufacturer of electronic components has added a third building to its production site and connected it to the existing facilities. The additional space houses modern equipment for the manufacture of devices ensuring electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), logistics infrastructure and modern offices.

The production site, which is located in the Ilfov county near Bucharest, now comprises an operational purchasing department and its own logistics center, and can be run independently in future. Construction began in February 2022.

The expanded facility is an investment in customer service and in meeting the challenges of the electronics industry. It will also enable Schurter to strengthen its position as an employer. “Over 300 employees are proud to be part of a company that develops and manufactures pioneering products,” says the press release.

Schurter Electronic Components supplies components for safe supply of power, input systems for ease of use, and sophisticated overall solutions.
