SCHURTER launches resource management device for the medical sector

Lucerne - SCHURTER is offering a new resource management device for large medical institutes. The Smart Connector DT31 can manage inventory and monitor medical and IT equipment. This optimizes maintenance processes and lowers costs.

SCHURTER is expanding its offering with a device for the inventory management and monitoring of electrical equipment in the medical field. The Lucerne-based company specializing in the development and production of electrical and electronic components stated in a press release: “Large medical facilities have an immense pool of equipment: from ward computers to laboratory devices to X-ray machines.” SCHURTER's Smart Connector DT31 aims to help with this in keeping an overview, optimizing maintenance processes, and lowering costs.

The product description of SCHURTER’s Smart Connector lists a range of possible applications. For example, all medical devices can be added to an inventory with a unique identification code. Recorded information on energy use, operating times, and device activity, can be used to analyze utilization and usage behavior. SCHURTER adds that transmission and storage in the cloud “are carried out with the utmost consideration for the highest security standards.” 

The international company has placed particular emphasis on the Smart Connector DT31’s adaptability. The product description states that notifications and functions can be “programmed according to the customer's needs.” An example of this is given as defining preventive maintenance intervals. Additionally, the Smart Connector can be connected to existing IT infrastructures via an API interface.
