Sistag opens subsidiary in Singapore

Eschenbach/Singapore - Sistag AG has established Sistag Pte Ltd in Singapore. The valve specialist plans to use this location to better serve the Asia Pacific market in future. There are also plans to expand the sales location with a warehouse or a production site.

Sistag AG from the canton of Lucerne has created a new foothold in Southeast Asia with its new subsidiary Sistag Pte Ltd in Singapore. According to a press release, the company plans to better serve the market there from Singapore in future. Sistag specializes in isolation valves with its Wey brand. According to information provided by the company, more than a million Wey valves currently ensure reliable connections in mining, water treatment, and the chemicals industry, for example.

CEO Samuel Sidler commented: “We have already successfully concluded several projects in the Asia Pacific region. We can better meet the needs of our customers and sales partners in the region by bringing Sistag closer to them.”

According to the information provided, Singapore will initially serve as a sales location. However, it has the potential to be expanded to include a warehouse or production site later on. Sistag believes that this strategic step has the advantage of shortening lead times and ensuring rapid delivery in this market. However, valves for the European market would continue to be manufactured in Switzerland.

Sistag is a family-owned company first established as the machine works Sidler Stalder AG in Eschenbach in the canton of Lucerne in 1964. The subsidiary Wey Valve Inc. was created in Nettleton, Massachusetts, in 1987. In 1997, the German subsidiary Sistag GmbH was added in Muggensturm in the state of Baden-Württemberg. The German production and storage area was expanded by 1,420 square meters in 2008 and in the USA by 3,700 square meters in 2016.
