SSIP bringing the Global Orbital Infrastructure Summit to Technopark Luzern
Root - The Global Orbital Infrastructure Summit is taking place June 24-25 at Technopark Luzern. It is being organized by the Space Systems Innovation Platform (SSIP) and will bring together 200 leading figures from the aerospace industry, as well as research and innovation experts, from Europe, Australia and India.
The Space Systems Innovation Platform (SSIP) will bring together leading figures in the development of space infrastructure at Technopark Luzern on June 24 and 25, as detailed in a statement. The Global Orbital Infrastructure Summit will unite approximately 200 representatives from industry, start-ups, research institutions, as well as investors, government officials and representatives from space agencies. Participants will discuss topics including infrastructure in orbit, space-based manufacturing, logistics and sustainability, among others.
SSIP was founded in 2025 as a neutral, implementation-focused platform. It connects Swiss precision industries with a global innovation ecosystem. The non-profit organization aims to bring various stakeholders in the space industry into contact with one another.
Since being founded, SSIP has established strategic partnerships both across Switzerland and around the world. In Switzerland, this includes the creation of underground laboratories at the Hagerbach Test Gallery located in Flums in the Swiss canton of St.Gallen. The collaboration with the Australian National University focuses on research cooperation, innovation and entrepreneurship. In India, SSIP has partnered with both T-Hub, a network comprising some 2,500 startups, and Inbound Aerospace. Based in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, Inbound Aerospace focuses on infrastructure in orbit, space-based manufacturing and future commercial systems.
With these partnerships and the summit, SSIP is seeking to position Switzerland as a bridge between the innovative ecosystems in Europe, Australia and India. The organization is led by its founder Paulo Pinheiro, a Portuguese national who has previously worked at both Beyond Gravity and Liebherr Aerospace.
