US Ambassador Visits the Canton of Lucerne
Luzern - President of the Government, Fabian Peter, received the Ambassador of the United States to Switzerland, Scott Miller. The focal point was informal exchange, and additionally, the delegation visited Steeltec AG in Emmenbrücke.
Head of Government, Fabian Peter, from the Department of Construction, Environment, and Economy, hosted the United States Ambassador to Switzerland, Scott Miller, on August 23, 2023. The US delegation was welcomed at the government building, where historical premises were explored, including the parliamentary hall and the government's meeting room.
Later, the journey led to Emmenbrücke, where the delegation visited Steeltec AG, a subsidiary of the Swiss Steel Group. The CEO of the group, Frank Koch, provided insights into the company, and Ambassador Scott Miller showed particular interest in vocational training. The focal point of the visit also revolved around the ambitious plans of the Swiss Steel Group to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2038.
The Government of Lucerne regularly nurtures contacts with foreign representatives in Switzerland, which plays a pivotal role in the canton's foreign relations. These discussions encompass current topics as well as cultural, political, and economic exchanges of experience.
