Visienco included in NVIDIA program

Root/Santa Clara - Visienco AG has been included in the NVIDIA Inception accelerator program. The company works to combine robotics and Artificial Intelligence in order to automate the production and application of organoids.

Visienco, a company headquartered at Technopark Luzern in Root in the Swiss canton of Lucerne, has newly joined the NVIDIA Inception accelerator program, as detailed in a statement. As a participant in the program, Visienco reportedly stands to benefit from access to technological resources, a strong ecosystem and expertise. In this way, the company intends to strengthen its expertise in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) space, the statement explains.

Visienco has its roots in the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM). Together, the two organizations developed an automated process to accelerate the production of organoids that leveraged the benefits of robotics and AI. Organoids are laboratory-grown microstructures that mimic the complexity and functionality of human organs. They can therefore be used as an alternative to animal testing and additionally help to support personalized medicine and drug development processes. Visienco, which is headed up by CEO Edwige Guinet, was recently the recipient of the Ypsomed Innovation Award for its Orgadroid.

“We’re looking forward to accelerating development as organoids move from exploratory research to industrial and translational use”, as the company writes in the statement covering its participation in NVIDIA Inception. The US chip manufacturer NVIDIA is headquartered in Santa Clara in the US State of California.
